Ict as a modern phenomenon
ICT, or information and communication technology, is a broad phrase with several definitions. When we think about ICT, we immediately think of technologies such as computers, televisions, mobile phones, the internet, and other forms of technology. Furthermore, ICT includes the job of gathering and distributing data in digital form or via the internet, which is also known as telecommunication.
In the twenty-first century, we tend to rely on the various components of ICT since they are more comfortable and simple to use. At the time, ICT serves several important roles or serves many purposes in the world. We can quickly access many types of services with the use of technology, which helps the economy grow via modernization, improves education and learning styles, connect and communicate with our friends/families, and acquire and share information in the simplest way possible. Not only that, but ICT also assisted families, social workers, and the government in gathering information during disasters or catastrophes.
Social media plays an important role in our daily lives, and it is also one of the most commonly used components of ICT during disasters since it allows for a wide range of engagement with people all over the world. Everyone may quickly communicate or interact with their families from afar through social media, especially during disasters. It broadens the reach of messages or information as a result of many persons publicly sharing or posting on multiple social media platforms. As a result, awareness will spread more easily, and people will be more likely to be prepared before, during, and after disasters. ICT improves not just the people who use it, but also the exchange of varied information. However, it also enforces distinctions from previous/traditional information providers such as television and newspapers. Digital information affects a wide range of people and is more available to most people at any time and from any location, but it requires a network and can only be accessed by people who have access to the internet. On the contrary, television and print media only reach a limited number of people, but they do not require a network, and newspapers are inexpensive. Overall, both are useful for information sharing.
ICT, as a component of our modern environment, is extremely beneficial and useful in a variety of ways. It contributes to overall modernization and enhances several facets of our society, particularly the sharing of various types of information
